Team Sedgefield at the County Athletics!

The Sedgefield Primary Athletics team comprising 30 athletes from 13 different schools put in a great team effort at the County Primary Athletics finals at Shildon. Dressed in their smart team kit everyone made a huge effort in an action packed morning with our girls relay team even having to run an extra race after a re-run was called. After the heats the team had at least one athelete to support in each final- an excellent team effort

The highlight for the team was the Girls 800mrace which saw Sedgefield dominating with Heather Denholm from West Cornforth leading throughout and holding off a late burst from Ellie Gaines from Sedgefield Hardwick giving us a great 1st and 2nd place
Sedgefield Hardwick athletes had a great day with Josh Hetherington gaining 2nd place in the Boys shot and Harry Jemmeson gaining another 2nd place in the boys javelin - they must feed them well at school!!!

In the overall team totals both our boys and girls teams came in 4th place a very creditable result
